Wow, I did not expect that when I started reading this book!!! 😱
The plot was a bit slow at first, but definitely mesmerizing, the characters (including the secondary ones) were intriguing, the writing was excellent, jumping from past to present to create tension until the whole picture was fully revealed… and the surprising twists in this duet amazed me – I couldn't guess any of them!!! (Which almost doesn't happen anymore…) My God, the twist at the end of the first book left me with a dropped jaw! 😳💥

The only thing that bothered me was that this duet felt more like a thriller than a novel. The romance was not tight enough in my opinion … ❤️
All in all, if you like complex, suspenseful, surprising and emotional stories… this duet is for you! 💥

הסיפור מתחיל באירוע ירי המוני בקניון. קאוון בן ה-15 מציל את האדלי בת ה-8, לאחר שהוריה נרצחו מול עיניה. 💥
ארבע עשרה שנים אחריי, קאוון ממשיך לסחוב מטען כבד מאותו יום, אך עבד קשה כדי להקים אימפריה טכנולוגית עם חברו הטוב. בערב בו חלומו התגשם והוא חוגג בביתו את מכירת הסטרטאפ שבנה, צלצול פעמון משנה את חייו מקצה לקצה… 😱
בדלת ביתו הונחה תינוקת בת יומה עם פתק עבורו, מהבחורה איתה היה לו סטוץ, והוא נאלץ להסגל לחייו כאב יחיד. ❤️
לאחר ארבע שנים, האימא חוזרת לחייהם והכאוס חוזר איתה, יחד עם קופסאות שרצים שחשב שלעולם לא ייפתחו שוב. 💥💥💥

וואו, לא ציפיתי לזה כשהתחלתי לקרוא את הספר!!! 😱
העלילה הייתה אמנם קצת איטית בהתחלה, אך בהחלט מהפנטת, הדמויות (כולל המשניות) היו מסקרנות, הכתיבה הייתה מעולה, וקפצה מעבר להווה כדי ליצור מתח עד שכל האמת התגלתה במלואה… וגם, הטוויסטים המפתיעים בדואט הזה היממו אותי – כי לא הצלחתי לנחש אף אחד מהם!!! (מה שכבר כמעט לא קורה…) בחיי שהטוויסט בסוף הספר הראשון השאיר אותי עם לסת שמוטה! 😳💥

הדבר היחיד שהפריע לי, הוא שהדואט הזה הרגיש יותר כמו ספר מתח מאשר רומן. הרומנטיקה בעלילה לא הייתה מספיק מהודקת לטעמי… ❤️
לסיכום, אם אתם אוהבים סיפורים מורכבים, מותחים, מפתיעים ומלאים ברגש… זה הדואט בשבילכם! 💥
