Gavin Scott is a professional baseball player who is about to get divorced. His wife Thea feels that she has lost herself in their relationship. And if that's not enough, she's been faking orgasms for years… 🙈
He doesn't want to lose his wife, but doesn't know what to do… Then, his teammates let him in on a secret. They have a secret reading club where they read romance and use them as "manuals". They agree to help him fix his marriage, but only if he agrees to join the club.

There aren't many books that make me think "Damn, that idea is genius!" – But that's exactly what happened with this book… the very idea that a group of manly men would read romantic novels, analyze them and apply them on their partners is so cool… and completely romantic. 😍💪📖
I loved the unique concept of the book, I loved Gavin's teammates, who made me roar with laughter… and I loved the random chapters from the book that Gavin read as part of the club – kudos to the author for writing two different stories, in one book! 👏
What I didn't like was that Thea's character was unbearable and there were quite a few boring parts that were repeated. Plus, the writing style is in the third person, which in my opinion did not fit the story and caused me to lose concentration quite a bit. 👏
But mostly I didn't like the ending… they had issues that weren't addressed at all. Instead, the book was about whether Thea would finally orgasm… They had bigger issues, but the focus was sex. 🙄
Overall, it's a sweet, romantic, and entertaining book that I had fun listening to, but it wasn't one that I was eager to return to every time I took a break. 📖

גאווין סקוט הוא שחקן בייסבול מקצועי שעומד להתגרש. אישתו תיאה מרגישה שאיבדה את עצמה בקשר שלהם. ואם זה לא מספיק, היא כבר שנים מזייפת אורגזמות… 🙈
הוא לא רוצה לאבד את אישתו, אך לא יודע מה לעשות… ואז, חבריו לקבוצה מגלים לו סוד. יש להם מועדון קריאה סודי בו הם קוראים רומנים ומשתמשים בהם כ"מדריכים". הם מסכימים לעזור לו לתקן את נישואיו, אבל רק אם יסכים להצטרף למועדון.
האם גאווין עד כדי כך נואש…? התשובה היא כן. 😂

אין הרבה ספרים שגורמים לי לחשוב "לעזאזל, הרעיון הזה גאוני!" – אבל זה בדיוק מה שקרה עם הספר הזה… עצם הרעיון שחבורת גברים גבריים יקראו רומנים רומנטיים, ינתחו אותם ויישמו אותם על בנות הזוג שלהם הוא פשוט אדיר… וגם לגמרי רומנטי. 😍💪📖
אהבתי את הקונספט הייחודי של הספר, את חברי הקבוצה של גאווין, שגרמו לי להתגלגל מצחוק… ואהבתי את הפרקים האקראיים מהספר שגאווין קרא כחלק מהמועדון – כל הכבוד לסופרת על שכתבה שני סיפורים שונים, בספר אחד! 👏
מה שלא אהבתי הוא שהדמות של תיאה הייתה בלתי נסבלת והיו לא מעט חלקים משעממים שחזרו על עצמם. בנוסף, סגנון הכתיבה הוא בגוף שלישי, שלדעתי בכלל לא התאים לסיפור וגרם לי לאבד ריכוז לא מעט. 🙈
אבל בעיקר לא אהבתי את הסוף… היו להם בעיות שבכלל לא טופלו. במקום, הספר עסק בשאלה האם תיאה סוף סוף תגיע לאורגזמה… היו להם בעיות גדולות יותר, אך מרכז ההתמקדות היה סקס. 🙄
בסך הכל זה ספר מתוק, רומנטי ומשעשע שהיה לי כיף להאזין לו, אבל הוא לא היה כזה שהייתי להוטה לחזור אליו בכל פעם שעשיתי הפסקה. 📖
• הספר זמין כרגע באנגלית בלבד, אך יתורגם לעברית ע"י הוצאת "הספרנית". 🔤
• הקשבתי לספר באודיו באנגלית, שהיה חביב.
