לקריאת הסקירה בעברית – תגללו למטה!
I got a lot of recommendations about this Duet and was excited to start it, but… unfortunately I didn't understand what the fuss was about. 🙈
I read to the end, only because I was sure that I would change my mind and understand the hype arownd it, but it didn't happen. 😬
📚 "I know my place isn’t with her, but I also can’t shake the feeling that hers is with me." 📚
It was supposed to be a beautiful tragedy, but too many illogical things happened. It was loaded with so many unrelated events and the characters were not consistent. The only thing that was described in detail for whole exhausting pages, were the sex scenes. 🤦♀️
I mean, this couple was more apart than together… and when they were together, they were more naked than talking and getting to know each other. 😂
📚 “We’re alike, Sutton—bound to our names. Held down by our obligations. Robbed of love. Until we found each other. That’s why we’re so connected, because I am you, and you are me.” 📚
They only knew each other for a few days and acted like it's not worth living if they had to be apart (modern Romeo and Juliet), but aside from the physical attraction, I didn't understand their connection… they didn't just come from two different worlds, it was more like parallel universes. 🔥
📚 “We don’t get forever, do we?” I breathe out onto his shoulder because it all suddenly feels impossible.
His stubble scratches my cheek as his head moves.
“I don’t know, but I know we get right now, and that’s what matters. Because if we only had today, it would be worth it.” 📚
Maybe if the author had deepened the relationship between them (beyond the very clichéd sex scenes) and delved into several events instead of just filling pages of action (for example, I would have been happy to read more about the time in the psychiatric hospital) – this Duet could have been amazing! 🙈 But the only thing I liked about this duet was the epilogue… 🤦♀️
Unfortunately, it did not work for me.

קיבלתי המון המלצות על הדואט הזה והתרגשתי להתחיל אותו, אבל…. לא הבנתי על מה המהומה. 🙈
אמנם קראתי עד סופו, אבל רק כי הייתי בטוחה שאשנה את דעתי ואבין את ההייפ סביבו. זה לא קרה. 😬

זו הייתה אמורה להיות טרגדיה יפיפייה, אך קרו בו יותר מידי דברים לא הגיוניים. הוא עמוס בהתרחשויות לא קשורות והדמויות לא היו עיקביות. הדבר היחיד שתואר בפרטי פרטים על עמודים שלמים ומתישים, הן סצנות הסקס. 🤦♀️
בחיי, הזוג הזה היה יותר בנפרד מאשר יחד… ובזמן שהיו יחד, הם היו יותר ערומים מאשר אשכרה לדבר ולהכיר אחד את השני. 😂

הם הכירו רק כמה ימים והתנהגו כאילו לא שווה להם לחיות אם הם צריכים להיות בנפרד (סטייל רומיאו ויוליה המודרניים), אבל חוץ מהמשיכה הפיזית, לא הבנתי את החיבור שלהם… הם לא באים רק משני עולמות שונים, זה היה יותר כמו יקומים מקבילים. 🔥

אולי אם הסופרת הייתה מעמיקה את הקשר ביניהם (מעבר לסקס הקלישאתי עד מאוד) ומתעמקת במספר התרחשויות במקום למלא סתם דפים של אקשן (למשל, הייתי שמחה לקרוא עוד על התקופה בבית החולים הפסיכיאטרי) – הדואט הזה יכל להיות מדהים! 🙈 אבל הדבר היחיד שאהבתי בדואט הזה, היה האפילוג… 🤦♀️
הפעם, זה לא היה עבד בשבילי.
