I have no intention of writing more about the plot to avoid spoilers (what I wrote is also in the blurb), because I started the book completely blind, and I think you should too. 💥
So how do I describe what I thought of it…? It's insanely long (712 pages), but I didn't feel like it was too long at all and the plot didn't drag one bit (and thank God for short chapters, I love it!) 😂
I loved the special plot, the broken characters, the tragedies and how they affected all the characters, the flowing writing… and above all, I LOVED the heroine – this is completely her story. ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
📚 "I realized, with depressing clarity, that she wasn’t the venom at all. She was the antidote. But the quantities were all off." 📚
What I didn't like might be a bit petty, but I like books with a logical time sequence. The plot begins when the heroine is 14 years old and continues until the present, when she is 22. So how did she hear the song 'Watermelon Sugar' at the age of 14…? 🤔🙄
Plus, there were some parts that I thought were unnecessary – for example, Charlotte's Pap test and what happened during… it was completely creepy. 🙈
All in all, this is not a quick or easy read, and it's not a smutty book either (even though it has a really steamy chapter! 🔥). It was toxic and touching, tragic and healing, sad and funny, beautiful and ugly. It didn't make me cry (and I'm a serious crybaby!!!) but it definitely hurt and touched me – and I highly recommend it. ❤️🔥
I heard the audiobook, which was amazing! 👏
When I started listening and discovered that it had more than two narrators, my curiosity grew even more… and what a wonderful combination it was. Each of them suited the character perfectly and managed to breathe life into them. ❤️🔥

אין לי כוונה לכתוב יותר מזה על העלילה כדי להימנע מספוילרים (מה שכתבתי מופיע גם בתקציר), כי התחלתי את הספר עיוורת לחלוטין, ואני חושבת שגם אתם צריכים. 💥
אז איך אתאר מה חשבתי עליו…? הוא ארוך בטירוף (712 עמודים), אבל בכלל לא הרגשתי שהוא ארוך לי מידי והעלילה לרגע לא נגררה לי (ותודה לאל על פרקים קצרים, אני מתה על זה!) 😂
אהבתי את העלילה המיוחדת, הדמויות השבורות, את הטרגדיות וההשלכות שלהן על כל הדמויות, את הכתיבה הזורמת…. ובעיקר, ממש אהבתי את הגיבורה – זה לגמרי הסיפור שלה. ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥

מה שלא אהבתי אולי קצת קטנוני, אבל אני אוהבת ספרים עם רצף זמן הגיוני. העלילה מתחילה כשהגיבורה בת 14 וממשיכה עד להווה, כשהיא בת 22. אז איך בגיל 14 היא שמעה את השיר 'Watermelon Sugar'? זה רומן עתידני…? 🤔🙄
בנוסף, היו כמה חלקים שהיו מיותרים לדעתי – למשל, בדיקת הפאפ של שרלוט ומה שקרה לה שם… זה היה לגמרי קריפי. 🙈
לסיכום, זו לא קריאה מהירה או קלה וזה לא ספר מלא בסקס (למרות שיש בו פרק לוהט בטירוף! 🔥). הוא רעיל ונוגע, טרגי ומרפא, עצוב ומשעשע, יפיפה ומכוער. הוא אמנם לא גרם לי לבכות (ואני בכיינית רצינית!!!!) אבל הוא בהחלט פגע ונגע בי – ואני ממליצה עליו בחום. ❤️🔥

• הקשבתי לספר באודיו, שהיה מעולה. 👏 כשהתחלתי לשמוע וגיליתי שיש בו יותר משני קריינים, הסקרנות שלי אפילו עוד יותר גברה… ואיזה שילוב נפלא זה היה. כל אחד מהם התאים לדמות בצורה מושלמת והצליח להפיח בהם חיים. ❤️🔥
