לקריאת הסקירה בעברית – תגללו למטה!

It's a love story, but there are no hearts and flowers here… Lily and Lauren (Lo) are childhood friends, and according to what everyone thinks – they have been a couple for 3 years. In reality, they are both addicted. 💥
Lily is addicted to sex and Lo is an alcoholic. Both come from wealthy families and if they find out, they will be dispossessed. So they pretend. Maybe they aren't really together, but they are best friends and always there for each other. ❤️🥃

But then, their feelings turn out to be stronger than just friendship and despite the addictions, they want to try to make it real. So maybe Lo could drink less… maybe Lily could just be with him… maybe they could do it together…
Maybe… 🙏

But is it possible to help a person we love before we help ourselves…??
It's an unusual story about two destructive and flawed characters and their way of dealing, individually – and together. ❤️🥃

Addictions, their treatment and the impact on others have always interested me, so I enjoyed this book. However, although I enjoyed it, I must point out that it will not suit everyone, because it's also heavy and even quite depressing. The plot was intense and slow, sometimes really annoying, but I think that's also what made the story so realistic. ❤

This is the first book in the series of 7 books (!!!) and ends with a cliffhanger, so I will continue to the rest of the books later, because… who has time? 😂 (Update: I wrote this review 3 and a half years ago and STILL haven't read the sequels, but recently people started talking about this series again and it totally made me want to get back to it 😂🤷‍♀️).

זה אמנם סיפור אהבה, אבל אין פה לבבות ופרחים… לילי ולורן (לו) הם חברי ילדות, ולפי מה שכולם חושבים – הם זוג כבר 3 שנים. אבל במציאות, שניהם מכורים. 💥
לילי מכורה למין ולו אלכוהוליסט. שניהם באים ממשפחות עשירות שאם יגלו, ינשלו אותם. אז הם מעמידים פנים. אולי הם לא באמת בני זוג, אבל הם החברים הכי טובים ותמיד שם אחד עבור השני. ❤🥃

אך הרגשות שלהם מתגלים כחזקים יותר מידידות, ולמרות ההתמכרויות, הם רוצים לנסות להפוך את מה שיש ביניהם לאמיתי. אז אולי לו יוכל לשתות פחות… אולי לילי תוכל להיות רק איתו… אולי הם יכולים לעשות את זה ביחד.
אולי… 🙏

אבל האם אפשר לעזור לאדם שאנו אוהבים לפני שנעזור לעצמנו…?? זה סיפור לא רגיל על שתי דמויות הרסניות ופגומות ועל דרך ההתמודדות שלהן, כל אחת עם הבעיות שלה בנפרד – וגם יחד. ❤🥃

התמכרויות, הטיפול בהם והשפעתם על הסביבה קרובה תמיד עניינו אותי ולכן נהניתי מהספר. מה שכן, למרות שנהניתי, אני חייבת לציין שלדעתי הוא לא יתאים לכולם, כי הוא גם כבד ואפילו דיי מדכא… העלילה אינטנסיבית אבל איטית, לפעמים ממש מעצבנת, אבל לדעתי זה גם מה שהפך אותה לכל כך מציאותית. ❤

זה ספר ראשון בסדרה של 7 ספרים (!!!) ונגמר בסוף פתוח, אז אמשיך לשאר הספרים בהמשך, כי… למי יש זמן? 😂 (עדכון: כתבתי את הסקירה הזו לפני 3 וחצי שנים ועדיין לא קראתי את ההמשכים, אבל לאחרונה הסדרה הזו שוב חזרה לשיח וזה לגמרי עשה לי חשק 😂🤷‍♀️).
