לקריאת הסקירה בעברית – תגללו למטה!

The book begins with a glimpse into the present – where Hollis is at his best friend's wedding, Magnolia, and his heart is broken because he is going to lose her to another man. 💔

The story goes back to the past, where the two met when they were 8, when Hollis moved to a small town in Alabama that is divided between those who have money and those who do not. Magnolia grew up in a luxurious house where social status is the most important and Hollis lives on the other side of the fence. And yet, she decided he was going to be her best friend. 😍

Hollis is loyal with a huge heart, but his mother reminded him every day that he would never be good enough for Magnolia, until he began to believe it… Magnolia is a real southern girl who is expected to be the perfect daughter and please her parents, but despite the prejudices, their brave friendship grew from elementary school, all the way to adulthood. 💥

But as their childish feelings became more, they did not have the courage to expose them, until Hollis realized that his time is running out –
And maybe, just maybe… she will choose him. 😭🙏💔

This book made me laugh, cry, get upset and fall in love. Every page was pure magic!!! 💥
I do not think I ever hoped that characters would get the happy ending they deserved, like in this book. I found myself shaking my Kindle to make them see what they have right under their noses. 🙏😂

I loved the slow progress (which made the plot believable) until I almost forgot it was just a book. 😂
There were some things that felt illogical and annoyed me (their mothers) or were unnecessary to me (the intimate relationship with another described in great detail) and most of the book describes their childhood – but I still enjoyed myself. 😍

This is a story about friendship and self-search, but especially love – one that you can not live without, that if it is taken away from you – you will never be the same… 💔👑

My friend sent this clip after I finished the book and I felt like it was written especially for the book (or that the book was inspired by it… I don't know lol) 😂🤷‍♀️

הספר מתחיל עם הצצה קטנה להווה – בו הוליס נמצא בחתונה של החברה הכי טובה שלו, מגנוליה, וליבו נשבר כי הוא הולך לאבד אותה לגבר אחר. 💔

העלילה חוזרת לעבר כשהשניים נפגשו לראשונה בגיל 8, כשהוליס עבר לגור בעיירה קטנה באלבמה המחולקת בין אלו שיש להם כסף, לאלו שלא. מגנוליה גדלה בבית מפואר בו המעמד החברתי הוא החשוב ביותר והוליס גר בצד השני של הגדר. ולמרות זאת, היא החליטה שהוא הולך להיות החבר הכי טוב שלה. 😍

הוליס נאמן עם לב ענק, אך אימו הזכירה לו מדי יום שלעולם לא יהיה מספיק טוב עבור מגנוליה, עד שהתחיל להאמין בכך… מגנוליה ילדה דרומית אמיתית המצופה ממנה להיות הבת המושלמת ולרצות את הוריה, אך למרות הדעות הקדומות, החברות האמיצה שלהם גדלה מבית הספר היסודי, כל הדרך לבגרות. 💥

אבל כשהרגשות הילדותיים שלהם הפכו ליותר, לא היה להם אומץ להיחשף, עד הרגע בו הוליס הבין כי הזמן שלו הולך ואוזל –
ואולי, רק אולי… היא תבחר בו. 😭🙏💔

הספר הזה גרם לי לצחוק, לבכות, להתעצבן ולהתאהב. כל דף בו היה קסם!!! 💥
אני לא חושבת שאי פעם קיוויתי שדמויות יקבלו את הסוף הטוב שמגיע להם, כמו פה. מצאתי את עצמי מנערת את הקינדל כדי שיראו כבר מה יש להם ממש מתחת לאף. 🙏😂

אהבתי את ההתקדמות האיטית (מה שהפך את העלילה לאמינה) עד שכמעט שכחתי שזה רק ספר. 😂
היו כמה דברים שהרגישו לא הגיוניים ועצבנו אותי (האימהות של שניהם) או שהיו מיותרים בעיני (הקשר האינטימי עם אחרת שתואר לפרטי פרטים) ואמנם רוב הספר מתאר את תקופת הילדות שלהם – אבל זה לא גרע מההנאה. 😍

זהו סיפור על חברות וחיפוש עצמי, אבל בעיקר על אהבה- כזו שאי אפשר לחיות בלעדיה, שאסור להתפשר עליה, שאם תילקח ממך – לא תהיה שוב אותו אדם… 💔👑

בנוגע לשם הספר שתורגם לעברית: אמנם לדעתי יותר היה מתאים לקרוא לו "תבחרי בי", אך זו אינה טעות! גם הוליס צריך לבחור במגנוליה – ואפילו קודם, לבחור בעצמו ולהבין שהוא ראוי לה.

חברה שלחה לי את הקליפ הזה אחרי שסיימתי את הספר והרגשתי כאילו הוא נכתב במיוחד עבור הספר (או שהספר נכתב בהשראתו… אין לדעת חחח) 😂🤷‍♀️

קראתי את הספר באנגלית, אך הוא תורגם לעברית ע"י הוצאת ידיעות ספרים.
