לקריאת הסקירה בעברית – תגללו למטה!

I started listening to this book just to make sure it suitable for my 12 year old niece (it does 😬), but I found myself drifting and using every spare moment to get back to it. 💙

Liz Buxbaum is a hopeless romantic who likes to imagine her life playing like a movie. She inherited her love for Rom-Coms from her late mother, with whom she watched all the classics. 🎬
So, when Michael Young, her childhood crush since kindergarten returns to town, she thinks it's fate and desperate to make him notice her. 💙
She plots a plan with the help of her neighbor – and her biggest nemesis since age 5, Wes Bennett, to get Michael's attention, but right befor prom Liz is no longer so sure which guy she really wants… 😱

This is a funny and witty romantic teen comedy with touching moments – and although it had childish and predictable parts – it was so fun and entertaining that I found myself giggling out loud. 😂
I loved that each chapter started with a quote taken from a rom-com movie and while listening to the audio I completely could have imagined the Netflix movie that would be based on this book. 👏👏
The only thing that bothered me (besides the PG13 thing) is the huge resemblance to the movie 'Duff'. There were so many identical elements in the book – even the hero was called the same. 🙈

Still, if you want a romantic read that will make you smile, I definitely recommend this book (and especially the great audio version! The narrator did a wonderful job). 💙💙💙

התחלתי לשמוע את הספר רק כדי לוודא שהוא מתאים לאחיינית שלי בת ה-12 (מתאים 😬), אבל מצאתי את עצמי נסחפת ומנצלת כל רגע פנוי לחזור אליו. 💙

ליז באקסבאום היא רומנטיקנית ללא תקנה שאוהבת לדמיין את חייה מתנגנים כמו סרט. היא ירשה את אהבתה ל-rom-coms מאמה המנוחה, איתה צפתה בכל הקלאסיקות. 🎬
לכן, כאשר מייקל יאנג, קראש הילדות שלה מאז גן הילדים חוזר לגור בעיר, היא חושבת שזה גורל ונואשת לגרום לו להבחין בה. 💙
היא זוממת תוכנית בסיועו של השכן שלה – והאוייב הכי גדול שלה מאז גיל 5, ווס בנט, כדי למשוך את תשומת לבו של מייקל, אבל לפני הנשף ליז כבר לא כל כך בטוחה איזה בחור היא רוצה להשיג…. 😱

זו קומדיית נוער רומנטית מצחיקה ושנונה עם רגעים נוגעים ללב – ולמרות שהיו בו חלקים ילדותיים ומאוד צפויים – הוא היה כל כך כיף ומשעשע, שמצאתי את עצמי מצחקקת בקול רם. 😂
אהבתי שכל פרק התחיל בציטוט שנלקח מתוך סרט rom-com ובזמן שהקשבתי לאודיו לגמרי יכולתי לדמיין את סרט הנטפליקס שיבוסס על הספר הזה. 👏👏
הדבר היחיד שהפריע לי (חוץ מזה שזה ספר נוער) הוא הדימיון הענקי לסרט 'Duff' ('מתוייגת'). בחיי, היו בספר כל כך הרבה אלמנטים זהים – אפילו לגיבור קראו אותו הדבר. 🙈

ובכל זאת, אם בא לכם קריאה רומנטית שתגרום לכם לחייך, אני בהחלט ממליצה על הספר הזה (ובעיקר על האודיו הנהדר! הקריינית עשתה עבודה מופלאה). 💙💙💙
