Tiffany Reisz is the USA Today-bestselling author of the Romance Writers of America RITAยฎ-winning Original Sinners series from Harlequin's Mira Books.
Born in Owensboro, Kentucky, Tiffany graduated from Centre College with a B.A. in English. She began her writing career while a student at Wilmore, Kentucky's Asbury Theological Seminary. After leaving seminary to focus on her fiction, she wrote The Siren, which has sold more than half a million copies worldwide. 
Tiffany lives in Louisville, Kentucky with her husband, author Andrew Shaffer, and two cats. The cats are not writers. 

Hi Tiffany,
We are so excited to have you in our 'Ask our favorite author' questionnaire!

1. Describe a normal working dayโ€ฆ How many hours a day do you write? Where is your favorite place to write?
When Iโ€™m working on a book, Iโ€™ll usually write in or around my desk for about four hours a day. After four hours, nothing good comes out. 

2. Which subject you'd never write about? What do you consider taboo?
Thereโ€™s a lot I wouldnโ€™t write about but not because it was too taboo, but because it doesnโ€™t interest me. I donโ€™t like to read war books so Iโ€™d probably never write a romance set during World War II although those are still popular. Just not my thing. Iโ€™m a pacifist so war is something that I canโ€™t stomach thinking deeply about and you have to think about a subject deeply to write about it.

3. Do you hide any secrets in your books that only a few people will find?
Occasionally Iโ€™ll put in references to the Bible or to other books only really eagle-eyed readers will catch. 

4. Do you believe in writerโ€™s block?
All writers go through dry spells. In my case, if the words arenโ€™t coming itโ€™s because somethingโ€™s gone wrong in the book and I have to delete and rewrite a few chapters or the entire novel. As the painter Bridget Riley said, โ€œIf it doesnโ€™t feel right, itโ€™s not right.โ€ When Iโ€™m trying to write and I canโ€™t, itโ€™s because something doesnโ€™t feel right which means itโ€™s not right when means itโ€™s time to go back to the drawing board.

5. What kind of research do you do, and how long do you spend researching before beginning a book?
I rarely research before I start writing a book because I donโ€™t know what to research. If I set a book in London, I donโ€™t read books and books on London because none of that will go in the book. I start writing and I realize a character has to go from one London neighborhood to another and Iโ€™ll research how they would do that. Otherwise too much research is a form of procrastination. 

6. What is your favorite board game?
I donโ€™t really play board games. 

7. What's the weirdest thing you read about yourself?
I had a publicist confuse โ€œseminaryโ€ with โ€œconventโ€ and she sent out a press release saying I was a former nun. No, I went to a Protestant seminary and that is not the same as a religious order. 

8. What's the best book you've read recently?
I found a fun Gothic novel by Tess Gerritsen called THE SHAPE OF NIGHT, and it was fabulous. Surprisingly kinky, too!

9. The last book translated into Hebrew was โ€œThe Angel.โ€ If you need to choose, which one should be the next to be translated?
I would hope the books would be translated in order, which means THE PRINCE comes next. Itโ€™s book #3 in the Original Sinners series.

10. Finally,  Tell us about your future projects – What can you share about them?
I just finished writing THE PEARL which is a sequel to my fantasy erotica novel THE RED. THE PEARL is out December 1st.
