This book had everything I love – childhood lovers, second chances, dealing with PTSD & the effects of war and of course… A GREAT LOVE STORY. 😍
And the cover? SO HOT…! 🔥🔥🔥

9-year-old Lila Turner met 10-year-old Jude and his cousin Brody McAllister when she moved in next door in Cypress Springs, a small town in Texas and they immediately become an inseparable trio, but over the years Jude and Lila's friendship became love. (I loved that Jude realized he was in love with her long before she realized it herself. My freaking Kryptonite! 😂😍)
Jude was an outstanding athlete, so good that he could easily be in the NFL. But that was not his dream… From a young age, he always wanted to enlist the army and join the Marines to serve his country, just like his father. 💪❤⭐
Jude and Lila both know that their time is limited because at 18, they will have to separate for 5 years – but they are sure of their love and know they will have their whole life together. Will their great love last?
They thought time was their only enemy… they thought their love was strong enough to keep them together forever… but when Jude returns from the war, their troubles only begins. 😱💔
📚 “Put the stars back in the sky, Jude. It's so dark and lonely without them. " 📚
The book was amazingly written… it was deep – but it also has moments of humor… it has a young love story – and also a mature one (their story is over 20 years)… The characters were well-developed, including the secondary ones (I can not wait to read about the other McAllister boys!) 😍😍😍
The only things that I didn't like happened in the first half:
1. The part where they were young felt TOO long, I was waiting for them to grow up. (it was 50% of the book)
2. Jude always felt that Lila was his, even before they became a couple – but he wasn't always hers. (Damn… I hate that!)
3. The big fight they had when they were teens and the way they both behaved to each other pissed me off. So much.
I loved this book… I laughed, got angry, swooned, cried and enjoyed the ride. 👑⭐

ליילה טרנר בת ה-9 וג'וד ובן דודו ברודי מקאליסטר בני ה-10 נפגשים לראשונה כאשר ליילה עוברת לגור לידם בסייפרס ספרינגס, עיירה קטנה בטקסס והם מיד הופכים לשלישייה בלתי נפרדת ועם השנים, החברות בין ג'וד וליילה הופכת לאהבה ענקית. (אהבתי שג'וד הבין שהוא מאוהב בה הרבה לפני שהיא הבינה בעצמה. זה הקריפטונייט שלי! 😂😍)
ג'וד ספורטאי מצטיין, הוא כל כך מוצלח שיכול בקלות להגיע ל- NFL. אבל זה לא החלום שלו… מגיל צעיר, הוא תמיד רצה להתגייס למרינס ולשרת את מדינתו, בדיוק כמו אביו. 💪❤⭐
שניהם יודעים שהזמן שלהם קצוב כי בגיל 18, הם יאלצו להפרד למשך 5 שנים – אך הם בטוחים באהבתם ויודעים שיהיה להם את כל החיים יחד. האם האהבה הגדולה שלהם תחזיק מעמד?
הם חשבו שהזמן הוא האוייב היחיד שלהם… הם חשבו שאהבתם חזקה מספיק כדי להשאיר אותם יחד לנצח… אבל כאשר ג'וד חוזר מהמלחמה, הצרות שלהם רק מתחילות! 😱💔

הספר כתוב מעולה… הוא עמוק – אבל יש בו גם רגעי צחוק… יש בו סיפור אהבה צעיר – וגם סיפור אהבה בוגר (סך הכל, העלילה מתפרסת על יותר מ- 20 שנים)… הדמויות מפותחות ומעניינות, כולל דמויות המשנה (אני לא יכולה לחכות לקרוא על שאר האחים של משפחת מקאליסטר) 😍😍😍
הדברים היחידים שהפריעו לי, קרו בחצי הראשון:
1. החלק בו הם צעירים הרגיש ארוך מידי, חיכיתי שיתבגרו כבר… (שזה 50% מהספר)
2. ג'וד תמיד הרגיש שליילה היא שלו, גם לפני שהפכו לזוג – אבל הוא לא תמיד היה שלה. (גררר… שונאת את זה!)
3. הריב הגדול שהיה להם כשהיו נערים והדרך בה שניהם התנהגו אחד לשני עצבנה אותי. מאוד.
אהבתי מאוד את הספר הזה – התרגשתי, צחקתי, כעסתי, בכיתי ונהניתי מהדרך. 👑⭐
