So, funny story…
I was looking for a sport romance and Audible recommended this book to me. I liked the cover and started listening without reading the blurb. 💙

📚 “𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐬 𝐈 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮… 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐞 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐈 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞. 📚

The book started with a girl named Kelly – and although the narrator was a man, I didn't suspect anything, because there are lots of audio books using one narrator. 😬

Kelly is a woman full of tattoos and piercings who is dating an arrogant man who wears suits and constantly tries to change her attire, as if he's ashamed of her… Still, I didn't suspect anything.

He gets down on one knee in a sports game, in front of the fans, players and viewers at home – and to not embarrass him, Kelly says yes – but on the way home she tells him she is not interested in marring him.
He obviously gets upset because all their friend are waiting to celebrate their engagement after watching the proposal on TV… and then he accuses her of being in love with her best friend, Blue, the famous football player.
And still… I didn't suspect a thing!!! 😂

Then, Kelly admits to herself she has always been in love with Blue… that they were always close and she had to hide her feelings for him because he wasn't attracted to her… that he was always there for her ever since they were kids – even after she… came out of the closet. 😳😳😳
That was the point I started to suspect!
Because only then did I realize this book is M/M – and Kelly was actually…A GUY!!! Fuck my life. 🏳️‍🌈

So even though it was a surprise I never saw coming, I kept listening – and while there were cliché dramas I didn't like in the second half of the book and one of the narrators annoyed me – all in all, it was a cute, witty and very funny book (especially Kelly's outing story, which made me laugh like a loon!) 😂💙

So if you are in a mood for a fun MM book about a man who's in love with his (straight!) best friend – you should try this book.

NOTE – this book is part of a duet. While it doesn't end with a cliffhanger – the story is definitely not over, and although I enjoyed it – I probably will not continue to the second book soon. 💙

Update – I listened to the second book in the duet, "A Deeper Blue" and this is what I thought:
I really liked the first book… but this book was a big disappointment for me. 🙈 It was frustrating and repetitive…
Most of the time NOTHING HAPPENED and the drama was so ANNECESSARY! And unlike the first book – it did not make me laugh, it made me roll my eyes non-stop. 😬
Here is the summary of the story: They fight… then they make up. they fight again… then they make up again. GOD DAMMIT!!! 🙈
And the audio? So freaking bad… I wonder if they were paid, or forced by gun threats to narrate this book! 😂😂😂

אז, שמעו סיפור מצחיק…
חיפשתי לשמוע אודיו של רומן ספורט קליל והאודיובל המליץ לי על ספר הזה, ובגלל הכריכה היפה שלו החלטתי לשמוע בלי לקרוא תקציר. 💙

📚 “𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐬 𝐈 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮… 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐞 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐈 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞." 📚

הספר התחיל עם בחורה בשם קלי – ולמרות שהקריין היה גבר, לא חשדתי, כי יש הרבה ספרי אודיו שמתקמצנים ומשתמשים בקריין אחד. 😂

קלי היא אישה מלאה בקעקועים ופירסינגים שיוצאת עם גבר שחצן שלובש חליפות וכל הזמן מנסה לשנות את הלבוש שלה, כאילו הוא מתבייש בה… לא חשדתי.

הוא מציע לה נישואים במשחק ספורט, מול כל האוהדים, השחקנים והצופים בבית – וכדי לא להביך אותו היא מסכימה, אבל בדרך הביתה אומרת לו שהיא לא מעוניינת.
הוא מתעצבן. בכל זאת, מחכה להם מסיבת אירוסים עם כל החברים שראו את ההצעה בטלוויזיה… ואז הוא מאשים אותה שהיא מאוהבת בחבר הכי טוב שלה, בלו, שחקן הפוטבול המפורסם. 💙
ועדיין… לא חשדתי!!! 😬

ואז קלי מודה בפני עצמה שתמיד הייתה מאוהבת בבלו… שהם תמיד היו קרובים והיא נאלצה להסתיר את רגשותיה כלפיו כל השנים, כי הוא לא נמשך אליה… שהוא תמיד היה שם בשבילה והיא בשבילו מאז שהיו ילדים – אפילו אחרי שהיא… יצאה מהארון. 😳😳😳
פה, חשדתי!
כי רק אז הבנתי שזה ספר M/M – וקלי היא בעצם… הוא!!! 🏳️‍🌈
לעזאזל.

אז למרות שזו הייתה הפתעה שלגמרי לא הייתי מוכנה לה, המשכתי לשמוע עד הסוף – ואמנם היו כמה דרמות קלישאתיות שלא אהבתי בחצי השני של הספר, ואחד הקריינים קצת עצבן אותי – סך הכל זה היה ספר חמוד, שנון ומאוד כייפי (בעיקר סיפור היציאה מהארון של קלי, שגרם לי להתפקע מצחוק בקול רם!) 😂💙

אז אם בא לכן על ספר mm קליל על גבר שמאוהב בחבר הספורטאי (והסטרייט!) הכי טוב שלו – ממליצה שתנסו את הספר הזה. 🏳️‍🌈

שימו לב – הספר הוא חלק מדואט. אמנם החלק הראשון לא נגמר במתח קיצוני – זה עדיין סוף פתוח. למרות שנהניתי, די מיציתי וכנראה לא אמשיך לשני בזמן הקרוב. 💙

עדכון – שמעתי את הספר השני בדואט, "A Deeper Blue" (בעברית: "משחק חוץ") וזה מה שחשבתי:
מאוד נהניתי מהספר הראשון … אבל הספר השני היה אכזבה עבורי. 🙈 הוא היה מתסכל ומלא בחזרות …
לרוב שום דבר לא קרה והדרמה הייתה כל כך מיותרת! ובניגוד לספר הראשון – הוא לא הצחיק אותי, הוא גרם לי לגלגל עיניים ללא הפסקה. 😬
הנה סיכום הסיפור: הם רבים… ואז הם משלימים (בסקס כמובן). הם רבים שוב … ואז הם משלימים שוב. כמה אפשר? 🙈
והאודיו? הוא היה ממש גרוע … אני תוהה אם שילמו לקריינים, או שהכריחו אותם באיומי אקדח להקליט את הספר הזה! 😂😂😂
