ספר ראשון מתוך טרילוגיה.
הגעתי לספר בראש פתוח ובאמת שניסיתי ליהנות, אבל…
יש בו גיבורה חלשה, גיבור מתוסבך שמבחוץ נראה עוצמתי – אבל מבפנים שבור (שזה היה עובד מעולה, אם הוא לא היה הנשיא של פאקינג ארה"ב), אינסטה לאב ברמה מוגזמת, BDSM, שלישיות, בגידות ואפילו גילוי עריות. 😬
הייתי יכולה להתמודד עם כל אחד מהמרכיבים האלו בנפרד, אבל יחד – זה פשוט היה יותר מידי בשביל הנפש העדינה שלי… 😂💙

גריר גאלוואי בת ה- 16 הולכת למסיבה עם סבא שלה, סגן נשיא ארה"ב לשעבר, שם היא פוגשת חייל חתיך בן 26 בשם מקסן אשלי (אש). 🔥
למרות גילה הצעיר, הם חולקים נשיקה אסורה – וכמובן מתאהבים מיד אחריה. (גלגול עיניים)
למחרת, אש נוסע לשדה הקרב וגריר כותבת לו מיילים מרגשים על כמה שהיא אוהבת אותו ואת מה שהוא עושה לגוף שלה (ילדונת, ראית אותו רק פעם אחת, תנוחי.) – אבל הוא אף פעם לא עונה לה.
כמה שנים אחרי, הם עומדים להפגש שוב במסיבה – וגריר כל כך מתרגשת לפגוש שוב את הגבר ששבה את ליבה, במיוחד שעכשיו היא בגיל חוקי… אך היא מגלה שאש מאורס לאחרת ובורחת בבכי – הישר לזרועותיו של אמברי, בחור עם לב שבור בעצמו. 💔
השניים מחליטים לבלות את הלילה יחד והיא נותנת לו את בתוליה ו… (כן, ניחשתן נכון!) שניהם מיד מתאהבים אחד בשני (גלגול עיניים). אבל למחרת הוא נעלם והיא לא רואה אותו שוב.

השנים עוברות ואש הוא נשיא ארה"ב (בגיל 35! ושי עדיין לא מוריד את הזבל בלי שאבקש… 😂) אמברי הוא הסגן שלו – ושלושתם נפגשים שוב.
אש מספר לגריר שאחרי כל השנים האלה הוא עדיין מאוהב בה (גלגול עיניים) והם הופכים מיד לזוג. 💙
אבל מה עם אמברי…? 😬
אז ככה… אני לא אהרוס עם ספויילרים, אבל חוץ מסקס, כמעט ולא הייתה עלילה (וזו שהייתה, לא הייתה הכי אמינה). אין לי בעיה עם הרבה סצנות סקס, להיפך – אני מתה על זה! אבל לפחות עבורי, חוץ מכמה סצנות בודדות שהיו לוהטות, רובן הגדול היו משפילות – ואם מישהו היה מנסה לעשות לי את הדברים שעשו לגריר, הייתי פונה למשטרה, נשיא או לא נשיא!!! #metoo 💪💙

בנוסף, לא הצלחתי לחבב את הדמויות…
גריר תוארה כמשכילה ועצמאית אבל מהר מאוד הפכה לאישה חלשה, נאיבית וכנועה. אני אוהבת ספרים על גברים חזקים ש"מצילים" את הגיבורה, אבל אני לא אוהבת לקרוא על נשים שאין להן כבוד עצמי או עמוד שדרה, שלא אוהבות את עצמן ונהנות להיות מושפלות. 😬
ואש? הוא אפילו לא היה דום אמיתי, הוא גבר שנהנה להשפיל ולהכאיב לפרטנרים שלו – גברים או נשים… אלוהים, אם זה היה סיפור אמיתי והוא באמת היה נשיא ארה"ב, הייתי כותבת לכן את הסקירה הזו מהמקלט!!! 😂😂😂
ואמברי… טוב, תכלס הוא היה הכי פחות מעצבן מבין שלושתם. 😂
אני יודעת שאני במיעוט, כי לספר יש המוווון ביקורות גבוהות, אך לצערי, אישית לא התחברתי…

I started this book open minded and really tried to have enjoy it, but…
It has a weak heroine, a hero who seems powerful on the outside – but broken on the inside (which would have worked, if he wasn't the fucking President of the United States), Insta-Love, BDSM, MM, MFM, cheating and even incest… 😬
It was all just too much for my gentle heart. 😂💙

16-year-old Greer Galloway goes to a party with her grandfather, the former Vice President, where she meets the 26-year-old soldier, Maxen Ashley (Ash). 🔥
Despite her young age, they share a forbidden kiss – and of course they instantly fall in love. (eye role)
Ash deploys and Greer emails him about how much she loves him and what he does to her body (girl, you've only met him once, shut up…) but he never answers her. 😬
A few years later, they are about to meet again at the party – and she is so excited to see the man who stole her heart, especially now that she is of legal age… but instead, she discovers that Ash is engaged and runs away crying – right into Embry's arms, a heart broken guy himself. 💔
The two decide to spend the night together. she gives him her virginity and… (Yes, you guessed it!) They both immediately fall in love with each other (eye role). But he's gone the next day and she never hears from him again…

The years goes by… Ash is the President of the United States (at 35! I can't get my husband to take out the trash by himself 😂) and Embry is the Vice President – and the three of them meet again.
Ash tells Greer that after all these years he is still in love with her (eye role) and so they immediately become a couple. 💙
But what about Embry…? 😬
So… I won't elaborate to avoid spoilers, but except for lots of sex, there was hardly any plot in this book (and the one that was, wasn't to believable). I don't have a problem with a lot of sex scenes – I love it! But except for a few scenes that were hot, most of them were just humiliating – and if anyone tried to do to me what they did to Greer, I would contact the police, President or not President!!! #metoo 💪💙

Plus, I didn't like any of the characters…
Greer was described as educated and independent woman but quickly became a weak, submissive and gullible. I love books with strong men who "save" the heroine, but I don't like to read about woman with no self-respect who don't like themselves and enjoy being humiliated. 😬
And Ash? He wasn't even a real Dom, he was just a man who enjoyed hurting and humiliating his partners – men or women … God, if it was a true story and he was really the president, I would write this review sitting in the shelter!!! 😂😂😂
And Embry… well, to be honest he was the least annoying of the three. 😂
I know I'm in the minority, because the book has lots of high reviews… but unfortunately, it wasn't my cup of tea.
