Florence is a ghostwriter for a very popular romance novelist. She faces an impending deadline and her new editor, Benji, refuses to give her an extension. He doesn't know that she's actually the real author of the book, and she only has one night to complete the final chapter.
Florence has lost her faith in happily ever after, after her last boyfriend broke her heart and shattered her concept about love stories, so she has no inspiration…
Oh – and she can also see ghosts. 😱
Florence and her father share a special gift, both of whom can communicate with the dead and help them complete their unfinished business. But as a child, when she tried to help solve a murder case, she became the outcast of the town, which caused her to leave for a distant college and never look back.
When her father unexpectedly passes away, she returns to her hometown, and to her surprise, not only is there a ghost waiting for her at the door, but also Benji who needs her help. ❤️
As usual, I didn't read the blurb before I started reading, so I was totally not expecting this plot line (although the title of the book is a pretty big hint 😂)
The book started off slow, so it took me a while to get into the plot and like the characters, but once I did, I definitely had fun. 🧡

It was a super sweet magic realism story but not cliche, entertaining, and definitely fun… and it deals with grif, loss, and pain in a beautiful and sensitive way. But it was more of a self-discovery book – about the FMC life choices, and I expected it to have a bit more romance, and not just a little bit, towards the end. 🙏
All in all, it's perfect as a vacation book… and could definitely make a wonderful girls' movie! 🧡
פלורנס היא סופרת צללים של סופרת רומנטיקה פופולרית במיוחד. היא עומדת בפני דד-ליין מתקרב והעורך החדש שלה, בנג'י, מסרב להעניק לה ארכה. הוא לא יודע שהיא למעשה המחברת האמיתית של הספר, ונשאר לה רק לילה אחד להשלמת הפרק האחרון.
פלורנס איבדה את אמונתה באושר ועושר לאחר שבןמזוגה האחרון שבר לה את הלב וניפץ את התפיסה שלה לגבי סיפורי אהבה, לכן אין לה השראה…
אה – והיא גם יכולה לראות רוחות רפאים. 😱
פלורנס ואביה חולקים מתנה מיוחדת, שניהם יכולים לתקשר עם המתין ולסייע להם במילוי עסקיהם הלא גמורים. אך בילדותה, כשניסתה לסייע בפתרון תיק רצח, היא הפכה למנודה של העיירה, מה שגרם לה לעזוב לקולג' מרוחק ולא להסתכל לאחור.
כאשר אביה נפטר במפתיע, היא חוזרת לעיר הולדתה, ולהפתעתה, מחכה לה בדלת לא רק רוח רפאים, אלא גם בנג'י שזקוק לעזרתה. ❤️
כרגיל, לא קראתי תקציר לפני שהתחלתי לקרוא, אז לגמרי לא ציפיתי לקו העלילה הזה (למרות ששם הספר הוא רמז דיי עבה 😂)
הקצב של הספר התחיל בצורה איטית, אז לקח לי קצת זמן להתחבר לעלילה ולחבב את הדמויות, אבל אחרי שזה קרה, בהחלט נהניתי ממנו מאוד. 🧡

זה היה סיפור של קסם ריאליסטי סופר מתוק אבל לא קלישאתי, מבדר ולגמרי כייפי… הוא מדבר על אובדן, אבל וכאב בצורה רגישה ויפיפיה. אבל הוא היה יותר ספר של גילוי עצמי – על המסע של הגיבורה. אני ציפיתי שהוא יהיה עם קצת יותר רומנטיקה, ולא רק מעט, לקראת סופו. 🙏
מה שכן, הוא מושלם כספר חופשה… ובהחלט יכול להפוך לסרט בנות נפלא! 🧡
