One of the things I love most while I'm reading is that moment when the big twist in the plot is finally revealed, my eyes open in shock and the only thing that comes out of my mouth is… FUCK!  😱
So here are some of the thrillers I've heard on audio lately. Some were good, some were bad, and some were freaking awesome! 💥


The Housemaid Secret (#2) / Freida Mcfadden:
Genius, surprising, suspenseful, full of moments that made me open my eyes in shock. Freida is definitely an evil twist genius!!!! This was an excellent book that definitely deserves 5 stars, but if you have to compare, I liked the first book more.

The Loyal Wife / Natalie Barelli:
This book felt like a guide for newlyweds on "why you shouldn't lie to each other!"  😂
I liked the short chapters and the suspenseful plot, and even though I guessed most of the twists, I was still surprised!
It's a story about revenge… and also about redemption.

What Never Happened / Rachel Howzell Hall:
The beginning was amazing, so I had high expectations, but mostly nothing happened, and I found myself quite bored.  And yet, I was curious to find out who was behind everything, so I listened to the end. Well, the ending was quick, predictable, illogical, and quite disappointing.  Too bad, this book had the potential to be amazing!

Unmissing / Minka Kent:
A surprising short book with a crazy idea behind it, but there were a lot of plot holes (I won't go into detail so as not to give spoilers, but everything she did after what she experienced didn't make sense). I could have ignored it because of the crazy twist, but the ending was… meh. Rushed, unexplained, boring… I was expecting a BANG, but I was disappointed.

What Lies Between Us / John Marrs:
This book was creepy…twisted… even a little scary! It had so many villains, so many lies, so many holes in the plot that were closed little by little and in a super smart way!
And the ending… oh, the ending… it was definitely surprising, I would never have guessed this ending.  But I still can't believe that the book ended like that… I finished it with the feeling of "what the hell did I just read?!" 😂

Rock paper Scissors / Alice Feeney:
Excellent writing and full of surprising twists
Alice Feeney became one of my favorite thriller authors thanks to this book!

Distress Signals / Catherine Ryan Howard:
It took me a while to get into the story. It's good and suspenseful but a bit tiring. What I especially liked is the setting in which the plot takes place – a cruise ship.

And Then She Vanished / Nick Jones:
Nice story, but not suspenseful enough. I didn't really understand what genre it belonged to, but this book will be a great choice for time travel books lovers.

Tell Me Lies / J.P. Pomare:
Fascinating, action-packed, and the ending was very surprising!

Local Woman Missing / Mary Kubica:
Wow, amazing story, fabulous writing, great audio… I really felt like I was watching an episode of True Crime.

Did I Kill You? / Harper Shaw:
I apologize, but this was so boring… so stupid! I don’t know which one more!
So here, I've heard it all the way through, so you don't have to.

Drowning / TJ Newman:
I got so many recommendations for this book and came to it with high expectations. Indeed, the beginning was crazy!!! But then the story dragged on and on and on. God, what a bore it was… what wasn't it? Thrilling. 🤦‍♀️
All I thought while listening was, "Thank God I didn't waste my credit on this one."

I Want You Gone / Miranda Rijks:
Could it get any more predictable???

Daisy Darker / Alice Feeney:
This book reminded me a bit of Agatha Christie's plots – the whole family meets for the grandmother's birthday, and slowly they are found dead – who is responsible?
There were some boring parts, but most of the time, I was captivated by the story and what happened in the past and present… and as usual, I didn't see the ending coming. Although the plot was less "realistic" than the author's other books, it was definitely enjoyable! 👌
And it was really cool to hear the author at the end – who says that this is her favorite book out of all her books.

The Cabin / Natasha Preston:
A nice and action-packed teenage murder mystery… but the ending was stupid and pretty much ruined the experience for me. The ending remains kinda open, so I think it has a sequel.

אחד הדברים שאני הכי אוהבת בזמן שאני קוראת – הוא הרגע הזה שהטוויסט הגדול בעלילה סוף סוף מתגלה,  העיניים נפערות מרוב הלם והדבר היחיד שיוצא לי מהפה הוא… פאקקק! 😱
אז הנה כמה מספרי המתח ששמעתי באודיו בזמן האחרון. חלקם היו טובים, חלקם היו גרועים וחלקם היו פאקינג מעולים! 💥

גאוני, מפתיע, מותח, מלא ברגעים שגרמו לי לפעור עיניים. פרידה היא בהחלט גאונת טוויסטים מרושעת!!!! ספר מעולה שבהחלט מגיע לו 5 כוכבים, אבל אם צריך להשוות, אהבתי יותר את הספר הראשון .

הספר הזה הרגיש כמו מדריך לנשואים טריים על "למה אסור לשקר אחד לשני!" 😂
אהבתי שהפרקים היו קצרים ומותחים, ולמרות שניחשתי את רוב הטוויסטים, עדיין הייתי מופתעת!
זה סיפור על נקמה… וגם סיפור על גאולה.

What Never Happened / Rachel Howzell Hall:
ההתחלה הייתה מדהימה והיו לי ציפיות גבוהות, אבל ברובו כלום לא קרה ומצאתי את עצמי דיי משתעממת. ולמרות זאת, הייתי סקרנית לגלות מי עומד מאחורי כל מה שקרה ולכן הקשבתי עד סופו. ובכן, הסוף היה מהיר, צפוי, לא הגיוני ודיי מאכזב. חבל, לספר הזה היה פוטנציאל להיות מדהים!

ספר קצר ומפתיע עם רעיון מטורף, אבל היו הרבה חורים בעלילה. (לא אפרט כדי לא לתת ספויילרים, אבל כל מה שעשתה אחרי מה שחוותה לא היה הגיוני). הייתי יכולה להתעלם מזה בגלל הטוויסט המטורף שהגיע בהמשך, אבל הסוף היה כל כך מבאס… נמהר, לא מוסבר, משעמם… ציפיתי לבום, אבל התבאסתי.

What Lies Between Us / John Marrs:
הספר הזה היה קריפי… מעוות… אפילו קצת מפחיד! היו בו כל כך הרבה נבלים, כל כך הרבה שקרים, כל כך הרבה חורים בעלילה שנסתמו לאט לאט ובצורה סופר חכמה והגיונית!
והסוף… אוי הסוף… הוא בהחלט היה מפתיע, בחיים לא הייתי מנחשת את הסיום הזה. אבל אני עדיין לא מאמינה שהספר נגמר ככה… סיימתי אותו בתחושה של "מה לכל הרוחות קראתי עכשיו?!" 😂

כתוב מעולה ומלא בטוויסטים מפתיעים
אליס פיני הפכה לאחת מסופרות המותחנים האהובות עליי בזכות הספר הזה!

לקח לי זמן להיכנס לסיפור, הוא טוב ומותח אבל קצת מעייף. מה שאהבתי במיוחד הוא התפאורה בה העלילה מתרחשת – ספינת תענוגות.

And Then She Vanished / Nick Jones:
סיפור נחמד, אבל לא מספיק סוחף או מותח. לא ממש הבנתי לאיזה ז'אנר זה שייך אבל הספר הזה יהיה מהנה במיוחד לאוהבי ספרים של נוסעי זמן.

מרתק, מותח והסוף מאוד מפתיע!

וואו, סיפור מדהים, כתיבה נהדרת, אודיו נהדר… ממש הרגשתי כאילו אני רואה פרק של "טרו קריים".

אני מתנצלת, אבל איזה שעמום… איזה טמטום… אני לא יודעת מה יותר!
אז הנה, שמעתי אותו עד סופו, בשביל שאתן לא תצטרכו.

קיבלתי על הספר הזה כל כך הרבה המלצות והגעתי אליו עם ציפיות גבוהות. ואכן, ההתחלה הייתה מטורפת!!! אבל אז הסיפור נמרח ונמתח ונמשך, אלוהים איזה שעמום זה היה… מה זה לא היה? מותח. 🤦‍♀️
כל מה שחשבתי במהלך השמיעה הוא "איזה מזל שלא בזבזתי על הספר הזה קרדיט".

יש את זה ביותר צפוי???

Daisy Darker / Alice Feeney:
הספר הזה הזכיר לי קצת את העלילות של אגתה קריסטי – כל המשפחה נפגשת לרגל יום ההולדת של הסבתא, ולאט לאט הם נמצאים מתים – ומנסים לגלות את האחראי.
היו גם חלקים משעממים, אבל רוב הזמן הייתי מרותקת לסיפור ולמה שקרה בעבר ובהווה… וכרגיל, לא צפיתי בכלל את הסוף. העלילה אמנם פחות "מציאותית" מהספרים האחרים של הסופרת, אבל בהחלט מהנה! 👌
וממש מגניב לשמוע בסוף את הסופרת – שמספרת שזה הספר האהוב עליה מבין כל ספריה.

The Cabin / Natasha Preston:
תעלומת רצח נוער נחמדה ומסקרנת… אבל הסוף היה דבילי ודיי הרס לי את החוויה. הסוף נשאר פתוח, אני חושבת שיש לספר הזה המשך.
