Mika used to spend every summer at her family's cabin in Chase's town, and despite their class differences, they immediately became good friends. I loved the plot building – I got little tastes of the secrets, enough to keep me curious to wait and find out more… I loved the glimpses into the past that made me understand the deep connection between them (which I didn't understand at first)… I liked the hero and I loved the excellent blurb, which reveals absolutely nothing, but is an accurate description of the book. 👏👏👏
📚 "Life is a bitch, but sometimes that bitch knows what she’s doing." 📚
However, I didn't like the first chapters, it felt as if they were written by a new author. Plus, I am not an expert on the subject in this book (spoiler 🤐), but it was full of holes and even over the top… 🙈
But most of all – I didn't like the ending. It should have been different in my opinion. While it was a happy ending that fits the storyline, for me it's not exactly a happy ending for all the characters (ahem… the hero). 🤷♀️🤐
This was a relatively short book with an original and unique plot about second chance love, childhood sweethearts and a man who falls in love first. 💙
**Pay attention to the triggers before reading!**
מיקה נהגה לבלות כל קיץ בבקתה המשפחתית שלה, שנמצאת בעיירה של צ'ייס, ולמרות הבדלי המעמד ביניהם, הם הפכו מיד לחברים טובים. עם השנים החברות שלהם הפכה לאהבה גדולה, והם בילו יחד את חופשת הקיץ וחלמו על העתיד שיבנו כשיתבגרו. 💙
אבל סיפור האהבה הענקי שלהם נקטע ברגע אחד…
ואז, 12 שנים לאחר מכן, חמושה בהמון סודות, מיקה חוזרת לבקתה כאישה שונה לגמרי מהנערה שהייתה, ופוגשת שוב את הגבר שריסק את ליבה. 💥

אהבתי את בניית העלילה – קיבלתי כל פעם טעימה קטנה מהסוד, מספיק כדי להשאיר אותי סקרנית לחכות ולגלות עוד… אהבתי את ההצצות הקטנות לעבר שגרמו לי להבין את החיבור העמוק בין הדמויות (שלא היה מובן לי בהתחלה)… אהבתי את הגיבור ואהבתי את התקציר המעולה, שלא מגלה פשוט כלום ממה שקורה בספר, אבל הוא תיאור מדוייק שלו. 👏👏👏

לעומת זאת, לא אהבתי את הפרקים הראשונים, זה הרגיש לי כאילו הם נכתב ע"י סופרת בתחילת דרכה. בנוסף, אני לא מומחית בנושא שמופיע בספר (ספויילר 🤐), אבל זה הרגיש לי מלא חורים ואפילו קצת מוגזם מידי… 🙈
וגם – לא אהבתי את הסוף. הספר היה צריך להיגמר אחרת לדעתי. אמנם זה סוף טוב ותואם את קו העלילה, אבל מבחינתי זה לא הסוף הטוב עבור כל הדמויות (אהמ… הגיבור). 🤷♀️🤐
לסיכום, זה ספר קצר יחסית עם קו עלילה מקורי ושונה על הזדמנות שנייה, אהובי ילדות וגבר שמתאהב קודם. 💙
