לקריאת הסקירה בעברית – תגללו למטה!

I wrote this review about four years ago and completely forgot about it… but now, this book is being translated into Hebrew, so I guess it's time to finally publish it! 😂

Amanda spent her entire life striving for perfection while growing up in the shadow of her beloved and successful older sister. She had only one thing to make her happy, her best friend, Noah. She always felt close to him, until one day Amanda realized that it was more then friendship. It was love. 💛
But she never felt good enough, so she was sure she wasn't "perfect enough" for him, and did everything she could to push him away… until one day, she succeeded. 💥

Amanda's character was totally controversial for me. On the one hand, my heart broke for her and how little self-worth the people in her life have instilled. On the other hand, her choices and actions freaking frustrated me. Even so, I could understand her behavior. She never loved herself enough, therefore she was unable to allow someone else to love her… and reading about it was painful, annoying, and tragic. 💔

This book evoked so many emotions – anger, heartache, frustration, sadness, and joy… there were parts that made me want to shake the characters, scream at them, and then hug them. But mostly, I just hoped with all my heart that they would get the happy ending they deserved. 🙏
But then came the last third of the book and… WOW!!! This book has a crazy and super original twist!!! I did not see it coming, and I can assure you that you will feel the same. 💥

📚"You don't need to be perfect in your life, but always be present in it. The present is the most perfect gift you can have."📚

All in all, this book is not a fairy tale but a realistic story (with HEA, don't worry 😂)… and reality is sometimes cruel. It's a story about friendship and love and has an amazing message: Live in the moment! The present is perfect, so live in the NOW and surround yourself with love. 💛💛💛

את הסקירה הזו כתבתי לפני כארבע שנים ושכחתי ממנה לגמרי… אז לכבוד תרגום הספר לעברית, נראה לי שהגיע הזמן סופסוף לפרסם אותה! 😂

אמנדה בילתה כל חייה בשאיפה לשלמות בזמן שגדלה בצל אחותה הגדולה, האהובה והמוצלחת. הדבר שהיחיד שהסב לה אושר, הוא החבר הכי טוב שלה, נואה. היא תמיד הרגישה קרובה אליו, עד שיום אחד הבינה שהחברות הזו, היא יותר עבורה, זו אהבה. 💛
אבל אמנדה אף פעם לא הרגישה מספיק טובה, לכן הייתה בטוחה שהיא לא "מושלמת מספיק" עבורו, ועשתה כל שביכולתה כדי להרחיק אותו ממנה… עד שיום אחד, היא הצליחה. 💥

הדמות של אמנדה הייתה לגמרי שנויה במחלוקת בשבילי. מצד אחד, הלב שלי נשבר בשבילה ועל כמה מעט ערך עצמי הנחילו בה האנשים בחייה. מצד שני, הבחירות והמעשים שלה הרגיזו ותסכלו אותי. למרות זאת, הצלחתי להבין את ההתנהגות שלה, היא מעולם לא אהבה מספיק את עצמה, ולכן לא הייתה מסוגלת לאפשר למישהו אחר לאהוב אותה… ולקרוא על זה היה כואב, מעצבן וטראגי. 💔

הספר הזה עורר בי המון רגשות – כעס, כאב לב, תסכול, עצב ושמחה… היו רגעים שגרמו לי לרצות לנער את הדמויות, לצרוח עליהם ואז לחבק אותן. אבל בעיקר קיוויתי בכל ליבי שהם פשוט יקבלו את הסוף הטוב שמגיע להם. 🙏
ואז הגיע השליש האחרון של הספר ו… וואו!!! כי לספר הזה יש טוויסט מטורף וסופר מקורי!!! לא ראיתי את זה מגיע, ואני יכולה להבטיח לכם שגם אתם תרגישו כמוני. 💥

לסיכום, זה לא היה סיפור אגדה, אלא סיפור מציאותי (עם סוף טוב, אל דאגה 😂)… והמציאות לפעמים אכזרית. זהו סיפור על חברות ואהבה ויש לו מסר מדהים: לחיות את הרגע! ההווה הוא מושלם, אז תחיו ב"עכשיו" ותקיפו את עצמכם באהבה. 💛💛💛
