Gabe, Pippa and their daughters have moved into their dream home in a small town in Australia. They bought the house because of it's view, but ironically, the cliff behind their house is used as a place where people go to end their lives. 😱
Since they moved, Gabe managed to save all the people who came to the cliff, until one day… he didn't. 💥
The problem is that Pippa doesn't really understand what she saw through the window. Did the woman jump or was she pushed? And what does that mean about their lives…? 🩵
📚 "Sometimes," I said thoughtfully, "the road to our destination leads us in a direction we don't want to take. But does it matter, in the end, if it gets us where we want to go?" 📚
The plot is told from two points of view – Pippa's and Amanda's (the woman from the cliff) and jumps between past and present. Although it sounds confusing, the writing was amazing, the pace was excellent and I found myself swept away from the start… 🩵
I loved the plot development and the short chapters (oh, I LOVE short chapters! 💪). I was surprised, I loved the reason behind the book title, the references to mental illness and codependence relationships and the realistic ending (which was absolutely necessary as a happy ending for the characters). 🙏
What I didn't like would be considered a spoiler, so I won't elaborate, I'll just say that it could have been handled in a more reliable way.
All in all, if you like psychological domestic thrillers, this is definitely the book for you! 💥💥💥

גייב, פיפה ובנותיהם עברו לגור בבית החלומות שלהם בעיירה קטנה באוסטרליה. הם רכשו את הבית בגלל הנוף, אך באופן אירוני, הצוק שמאחורי ביתם משמש למקום בו אנשים מגיעים כדי לשים קץ לחייהם. 😱
מאז המעבר, גייב הצליח להציל את כל האנשים שהגיעו לצוק, עד שיום אחד… הוא לא. 💥
הבעיה היא שפיפה לא ממש מבינה מה היא ראתה מבעד לחלון. האם האישה שהגיעה לשם קפצה או שנדחפה? ומה זה אומר בנוגע לחייהם…? 🩵

העלילה מסופרת משתי נקודות מבט – של פיפה ושל אמנדה (האישה מהצוק) וקופצת בין עבר להווה. אמנם זה נשמע מבלבל, אבל הכתיבה הייתה מעולה, הקצב היה מדויק ומצאתי את עצמי נסחפת עם הסיפור כבר מההתחלה… 🩵
אהבתי את התפתחות העלילה ואת הפרקים הקצרים (אוי, אני מתה על פרקים קצרים! 💪). הופתעתי מהטוויסטים, אהבתי את הסיבה מאחורי שם הספר, את ההתייחסות למחלות נפש ומערכות יחסים תלותיות ואת הסיום הריאלי (שהיה הכרחי לגמרי כסוף טוב עבור הדמויות). 🙏
מה שלא אהבתי ייחשב לספויילר, אז לא ארחיב, רק אגיד שהיה אפשר לטפל בנושא בצורה יותר אמינה.
בסך הכל, אז אם אתם אוהבים מותחנים פסיכולוגיים על חיי משפחה, זה בהחלט הספר עבורכם! 💥💥💥
