לקריאת הסקירה בעברית – תגללו למטה!
After her fiance left her on their wedding day, heartbroken, Shay decides to return to the Tulip farm after a distant relative left it to her. She spent some of her teenage years their and she has nothing better to do (I swear, that was the reason 😂🙈).
The problem? She has a year to marry, or the farm will be transferred to the township. 💥
After getting there, she meets Noah. Shay and Noah were friends in high school, he was socially awkward and always thought he wasn't good enough for her. Noah, who is still in love with Shay, offers her to have a "fake marriage" so she can keep the farm, and he will keep some of the land. ❤️

This book has lots of great tropes: second chance, small town, slow burn, fake relationships, he falls first and more… The plot was cute, like a cheesy Hallmark movie, and it had quite a few laugh out loud moments, but it didn't make much sense… For example, why would her step-grandmother leave the farm to her? And if so, why does she have to get married?? After all, shay is not really her relative and will not "carry on her name". 😂🙄
I really liked Noah's character, and especially his naughty alter ego, the sex scenes were definitely hot because of him… but he kept calling Shay "wife", which was supposed to sound sexy, but it was just weird ("Don't test me wife… Come here wife…"). 😂🙈
However, Shay was a terrible character. She has serious abandonment issues (and rightfully so, but at some point I got tired of reading about it) and she doesn't deal with them, they'll just go away on their own… But if a 6-year-old girl deals with her issues, then surely the heroine should too. ❤️
Come to think of it, Gennie was my favorite character (and she's a little girl, for God's sake! 😂). She was funny, smart and wonderfully (age appropriate!!!) written.

I'll give you anything you want, including a properly prepared gin and tonic. If you can't accept that, you're welcome to divorce me now." 📚
But my biggest issue was that the story dragged on and the chapters were too long… for example, there was a whole chapter about selling jam at a farmers market. Why…? 🙈
All in all, this book was cute and fun, but way too long… 😬
If you're in a kitschy mode, like thick books and a very sweet slow burn romance, this is the book for you! ❤️❤️❤️

לאחר שארוסה עזב אותה ביום חתונתה, שיי שבורת הלב מחליטה לחזור אל חוות טוליפ לאחר שקרובת משפחה רחוקה הורישה לה אותה. היא בילתה בה חלק משנות העשרה שלה וגם ככה אין לה משהו יותר טוב לעשות (בחיי, זו הסיבה 😂🙈).
הבעיה? יש לה שנה להתחתן כדי לרשת את החווה, או שהיא תועבר לחזקת המדינה. 💥
לאחר שמגיעה לשם, היא פוגשת בנואה. שיי ונואה היו חברים בתיכון, הוא היה מסורבל חברתית ותמיד חשב שהוא לא מספיק טוב עבורה. נואה, שעדיין מאוהב בשיי, מציע לה להתחתן בנישואים מזוייפים, כדי שתוכל לשמור על החווה, והוא ישמור על חלק מהאדמה. ❤️

הספר מלא בטרופים מעולים: הזדמנות שנייה, עיירה קטנה, בעירה איטית, יחסים מזוייפים, הוא נופל ראשון ועוד… העלילה הייתה מתוקה, כמו סרט צ'יזי של הולמרק, והיו בו לא מעט רגעים של צחוק בקול רם, אבל לא היה בו הרבה היגיון… למשל, למה שהסבתא החורגת שלה תשאיר את החווה דווקא לה? ואם כבר נתנה לה, למה היא חייבת להתחתן?? הרי היא לא באמת קרובה משפחה ולא "תמשיך את השושלת". 😂🙄
אהבתי מאוד את הדמות של נואה, ובעיקר את האלטר אגו השובב שלו, סצנות הסקס היו בהחלט לוהטות בזכותו… אבל הוא קרא לשיי כל הזמן "אישתי" כשם חיבה, שאמור היה להישמע סקסי, אבל זה פשוט היה מוזר ("אל תבחני אותי אשתי… בואי הנה אשתי…"). בחיי שהוא אמר את זה יותר מ-100 פעמים. 😂🙈
לעומתו, שיי הייתה דמות נוראית. יש לה בעיות נטישה חמורות (ובצדק, אבל בשלב מסויים נמאס לי לקרוא עליהם) והיא לא מטפלת בהן, הן פשוט יעלמו מעצמן… אבל אם ילדה בת 6 מטפלת בבעיות שלה, אז בוודאי שגם הגיבורה צריכה. ❤️
אם חושבים על זה, ג'ני הייתה הדמות שהכי אהבתי (והיא רק ילדה, למען השם! 😂). דמות מצחיקה ונבונה, שכתובה בצורה נהדרת (ותואמת גיל!!!).

אבל הבעיה העיקרית שלי הייתה שהסיפור נמרח והפרקים היו ארוכים מאוד… למשל, היה פרק שלם על מכירת ריבה בשוק איכרים. זה אולי הוסיף קצת פרטים עלילתיים על חייהם, אבל זה לא פיתח את הקשר שלהם או הניע את הסיפור בשום צורה. 🙈
בסופו של דבר, הספר היה מתוק וכייפי, אבל ארוך מידי בשבילי… 😬
אם אתם במוד קיטשי ואוהבים ספרים עבים של צריבה איטית מתוקה מאוד, זה הספר בשבילכם! ❤️❤️❤️
