We gave our favorite authors a questionnaire with 10 questions we really wanted to know… And they spilled everything! (Sort of 😂)

"I have always had a passion for storytelling, whether it be through lyrics or bed time stories with my sisters. I wanted to be an actress growing up so I could live many roles but I learned early on that my mind was too active… I would want to change the script .I would watch films and think of ways they could have improved the story if they took another direction so I thought it best that I tell my own."

Hi Ker,
We are so excited to have you in our 'Ask our favorite author' questionnaire!

1.    Describe a normal working day… How many hours a day do you write? Where is your favorite place to write?
I start my day with a coffee, choose a playlist on Spotify, begin working in my office, check my social media platforms, answer emails, and make graphics. I tend to save my writing hours for the quiet, dark hours, 11 pm – 4 am, while in bed. I love the silence of the night when everyone is sleeping, and the shadows begin to whisper. 

2.    If one of your books could become a movie – which one would you choose?
 Either, Empathy or Pretty Stolen dolls. I like the psychological twist those books have, the complex characters and stories would make for a great movie or series. Fingers crossed this happens one day 😉 

3.    Which subject you’d never write about? What do you consider taboo? 
There’s not much I consider too taboo (Smirks like a naughty mistress). If a story is well written and not written for pure shock factor, then there’s an audience waiting to read It. 

4. Share something your readers wouldn’t know about you.
(Scratches head) I’m pretty much an open book and share most of my life with my readers via social media. I guess some may not know that I’m empathic, highly aware of other’s emotions. 

5. There are good news and bad news – who is the first author friend you call?
K Webster and Kirsty Moseley, they are my go-to best friends for all news. We have been through a lot together and formed a bond that will accompany us through a lifetime of sisterhood.  

6. How do you select the names of your characters?
I like unique names, so when I hear someone with a fantastic name, I write it down, sometimes my readers will ask for me to use their name, and I’ve obliged. 

7. Have you always wanted to be a writer? If you didn’t write, what would you do for a living?
I’ve always been a creative soul. I used to write poems and song lyrics, which then evolved into story writing. As a child, my passion was to be an actress, but I learned early on that I wanted to write the script instead of acting it out. 

8. Do you read your book reviews? How do you deal with bad or good ones?
I do! And it does dampen my spirits for a split second when I read a bad review, but I give myself a shake and remember that EVERY writer receives criticism in some form or another. My titles won’t be to everyone’s taste, and I’m good with that. We can’t all like the same things, what a boring place the world would be if we did. 
I'm always filled with warmth to read a review where the reviewer has really connected with the story and the characters and it’s helped them in some way, and will stay with them. 

9. The last book translated into Hebrew was “The V Games” Series. If you need to choose which one should be the next to be translated?
I’d love to have Empathy translated into Hebrew. I think it would appeal to the V games fans.

10. Finally, tell us about your future projects – What can you share about them?
I have my MC series, ANIMAL (The Royal Bastard MC,) releases JUNE 16TH 
This title starts as friends to lovers, and then to a second chance romance with all dark carnage you can expect from an MC title, plus the usual splash of twisted delight my readers want from me.

"תמיד היתה לי תשוקה לספר סיפורים, בין אם זה מילות שיר ובין אם זה סיפורים לפני השינה עם אחיותיי. רציתי להיות שחקנית כך שאוכל לשחק בתפקידים שונים אבל למדתי בהמשך שהראש שלי היה יותר מידיי פעיל… הייתי רוצה לשנות את התקציר, הייתי רואה סרטים וחושבת על דרכים בהם אוכל לשפר את הסיפור אם הם היו לוקחים כיוון אחר, אז חשבתי שעדיף שאני אספר את הסיפורים שלי."
בישראל, הסדרה שכתבה יחד עם הסופרת קיי וובסטר, "וי גיימז", תורגם ע"י הוצאת 'ספרות שנוגעת' וזכתה לביקורות נלהבות.

היי קר,
אנחנו כל כך מתרגשות לארח אותך בפינה שלנו!

1. תארי לנו יום עבודה טיפוסי – כמה שעות ביום את מבלה בכתיבה? איפה את הכי אוהבת לכתוב?
אני מתחילה את היום עם קפה, בוחרת רשימת השמעה בספוטיפיי, מתחילה לעבוד במשרד שלי, עוברת על המדיה החברתית, עונה למיילים ויוצרת גרפיקות. אני נוטה לשמור את זמן הכתיבה לשעות השקטות והחשוכות, בין 23:00 – 04:00, במיטה. אני אוהבת את הדממה של הלילה כשכולם ישנים והצללים מתחילים ללחוש.

2. אם היית יכולה לבחור, איזה ספר שלך היית רוצה שיהפוך לסרט? 
או Empathy או Pretty Stolen dolls, אני אוהבת את הטוויסט הפסיכולוגי שיש בספרים האלו, הדמויות המורכבות והסיפורים, יכולים להפוך לסרט או סדרה מדהימה. מחזיקה אצבעות שזה יקרה יום אחד 😉

3. על איזה נושא לעולם לא תכתבי? מה נחשב בעינייך לקו אדום?
אין הרבה שאני מחשיבה כיותר מידיי טאבו (מגחכת כמו מאהבת שובבה). אם סיפור נכתב היטב ולא רק בשביל אפקט הזעזוע, אז ישנו קהל יעד שמחכה לקרוא אותו.

4. שתפי אותנו במשהו שהקוראים שלך לא יודעים עלייך.
(מגרדת בראש) אני בעקרון ספר פתוח, אני משתפת את רוב החיים שלי עם הקוראים דרך המדיה החברתית, אני משערת שאולי חלק מהאנשים לא יודעים שאני אמפתית, ערה בצורה מאד גבוהה לרגשותיהן של אחרים.

5. קיבלת חדשות טובות וחדשות רעות – לאיזה חברה סופרת תפני?
קיי. וובסטר וקריסטי מוסלי, הן החברות הכי טובות שאני פונה אליהם לכל סוגי החדשות. עברנו המון ביחד ונוצר ביננו קשר עמוק של אחוות אחיות שילווה אותנו לכל החיים.

6. איך את בוחרת את השמות לדמויות שלך?
אני אוהבת שמות ייחודיים, אז כשאני שומעת מישהו עם שם פנטסטי, אני רושמת אותו, לפעמים הקוראים שלי מבקשים ממני להשתמש בשם שלהם ואני עושה כבקשתם .

7. תמיד רצית להיות סופרת? אם לא היית סופרת מה היית עושה למחייתך?
תמיד הייתי נפש יוצרת, בעבר הייתי כותבת שירה ומילים לשירים, שמאוחר יותר התפתח לכתיבת סיפורים. כילדה הייתה לי תשוקה להיות שחקנית, אבל השכלתי מהר מאד שמה שרציתי באמת היה לכתוב את התסריט ולא לשחק.

8. האם את קוראת סקירות על הספרים שלך? כיצד את מתמודדת עם הטובות או השליליות?
אני כן! וזה אכן מוריד את רוחי לשנייה כאשר אני קוראת ביקורת שלילית, אבל אני מנערת את עצמי וזוכרת שהספרים שלי לא יהיו לטעמם של כולם, ואני בסדר עם זה. לא כולנו יכולים לאהוב את אותם הדברים, איזה מקום משעמם העולם היה אם כך.
אני תמיד מתמלאת בחום כאשר אני קוראת סקירה שבה הסוקר ממש התחבר לסיפור ולדמויות וזה עזר להן באיזו שהיא דרך, והסיפור יישאר איתם.

9. ספרך האחרון שתורגם לעברית היה סדרת  "ה-וי גיימס". אם היית חייבת לבחור, מה היית בוחרת לתרגם אחריו?
הייתי שמחה אם היו מתרגמים את Empathy לעברית. אני חושבת שזה יעניין את מעריצי "ה-וי גיימס" .

10. לסיום, ספרי לנו על פרוייקטים עתידיים – מה תוכלי לשתף אותנו עליהם?
יש לי את ספר בסדרת ה- MC (מועדון אופנועים) שלי, ANIMAL (The Royal Bastard MC,) , יוצא ב16 ליולי.
הספר מתחיל כ "חברים לאוהבים" ואז לרומן "הזדמנות שנייה" עם כל האופל שיש בmc , בנוסף יש תוספת של עיוות מענג שהקוראים שלי רוצים ממני.
