The meaning of the book's name: IOU = I owe you. 💥

Ainsley finds her boyfriend inside her roommate (literally) and does what any sane person would do: throws a lit candle at him… 🔥
But she hits the curtains instead, causing a fire, the arrival of the fire department and her landlord forbid her to return to her apartment. Heartbroken and desperate with no place to stay, she hears that Maverick – the scariest person on campus that do favors in exchange for debts, is looking for a roommate. He lets her stay with him until he finds another place, and hands her an IOU card (as a reminder that she owes him). 💥

📚 “It’s like I’ve got my own personal genie.” 📚

The first days are full of funny fights (and more and more cards) – but Ainsley has no trouble digging in and discovering the real Maverick, the one even his closest friends have not been able to discover.
Maverick has set rules so that no one could get close enough to find out what secrets he is hiding, but all of his plans go down the drain when Ainsley enters his life. ❤❤❤

Ainsley is… weird! I laughed at everything that came out of her mouth. I would definitely want a friend like her – cheeky, funny and totally crazy!!!! 😂
Maverick is the complete opposite, grumpy and mysterious, but beneath the rugged appearance he cares for the people close to him. ❤
They were perfect for each other. Each of their interactions made me laugh… and watching these two fight – and then fall in love, was so much fun. My favorite thing was that their relationship was not instalove, it was a journey. (but mostly, I liked that he fell in love with her first. SWOON!!!) 😍🔥👑

📚 “Some people are meant to burn, and others are meant to rise from their ashes.” 📚

What worked less for me was the lack of information about Maverick's "secret." I did not want anything dramatic, but a little more reference would have given depth to the story. And also, Ainsley made me cry with laughter, but sometimes the things she did and said were TOO stupid – but oh well, this is a comedy… 😂😂😂
Plus, towards the end there was an unnecessary drama.

In conclusion, I read quite a few "roommates" romances, but this one was different, refreshing and funny. ❤
The book will suit anyone who wants a break, because even though it's a light comedy and has no depth – I had a smile on my face throughout the reading. 👑

איינסלי מוצאת את החבר שלה בתוך השותפה שלה לדירה (תרתי משמע) ועושה מה שכל אדם שפוי היה עושה: זורקת עליו נר… דולק. 🔥
אבל היא פוגעת בווילונות, גורמת לשריפה, לבואם של מכבי האש ולכך שבעל הדירה שלה אוסר עליה להתקרב למתחם. שבורת לב ונואשת ללא מקום לישון בו, היא שומעת שמאבריק – האדם הכי מפחיד בקמפוס שעושה טובות בתמורה לחובות, מחפש שותף. הוא נותן לה להישאר אצלו עד שיימצא לה מקום אחר, ומוסר לה קלף IOU (כתזכורת לכך שהיא חייבת לו). 💥

הימים הראשונים מלאים במאבקים וריבים מצחיקים (ובעוד ועוד קלפים) – אבל איינסלי לא מתקשה לחפור ולגלות את מאבריק האמיתי, זה שאפילו חבריו הקרובים לא הצליחו לגלות.
מאבריק קבע כללים כדי שאף אחד לא יתקרב מספיק לגלות איזה סודות הוא מסתיר, אך כל התוכניות שלו יורדות לטמיון כאשר איינסלי נכנסת לחייו. ❤❤❤

איינסלי היא דמות… מוזרה. מאוד! צחקתי מכל מה שיצא מפיה. בהחלט הייתי רוצה חברה כמוה – חצופה, מצחיקה ומטורללת על כל הראש!!!! 😂
מאבריק הוא ההפך הגמור, זועף ומסתורי, אבל מתחת לחזות הקשוחה הוא דואג לאנשים הקרובים לו. ❤
הם היו מושלמים אחד לשני. כל אחת מהאינטראקציות שלהם גרמה לי לצחוק… והצפייה בשני אלו רבים – ואז מתאהבים, הייתה כייפית. הכי אהבתי שהיחסים שלהם לא היו אינסטה-לאב, זה היה מסע. (ובעיקר אהבתי שהוא קודם התאהב בה. קריפטונייט!!!) 😍🔥👑

מה שפחות עבד לי, זה שהיה חסר מידע על ה"סוד" של מאבריק. לא רציתי משהו דרמטי, אבל קצת יותר התייחסות הייתה נותנת עומק לסיפור. וגם, איינסלי הרגה אותי מצחוק, אך לפעמים הדברים שעשתה ואמרה היו טיפשים *מידי* – אבל נו טוב, ככה זה בקומדיה… 😂😂😂
בנוסף, לקראת הסוף הייתה דרמה דיי מיותרת לטעמי.

לסיכום, קראתי לא מעט רומנים של "שותפים לדירה", אבל זה היה שונה, מרענן ומצחיק בטירוף. ❤
הספר יתאים למי שרוצה הפוגה של צחוק, כי למרות שזו קומדיה קלילה ואין בה עומק – היה לי חיוך על הפנים לאורך הספר. 👑
