The beginning was so great! I cried with laughter from their young love (even though the hero did not want it at first 😂) and the story went on to become full of pain and depth. 💙
But at some point, it become pretty depressing, with too much drama and the plot dragged on for no reason… I have to admit that towards 85% I was a bit exhausted, and if I hadn’t heard the audio, I would probably have skipped parts of it. 😬
Plus, the hot guy on the cover looks 40+ so I thought it was going to be a "more mature" story, but it didn't happen, and any connection between Brooks and the guy on the cover is coincidental… LOL. 😂
Despite everything, Brittainy's writing is special and moving as always… and of course, broken characters are my kryptonite, and there are two of them in here. 👑
Update – After reading the author's words at the end (which wasn't on the audio) I fell in love with this book a little more… 😍

מגי מיי גדלה עם אביה ומעולם לא היה לה בית אמיתי עד שאביה התאהב והחליט שהם יעברו לגור עם אישתו החדשה ושני ילדיה. כאשר היא מגיעה לראשונה לבית, היא פוגשת את הילד מהבית השכן, ברוקס טיילר, מתאהבת בו מיד – ואפילו מתכננת להם חתונה, לה הוא לבסוף מסכים, למרות שהיא רק בת 10… 💙
אבל ביום החתונה המיועד, משהו נורא קרה למגי מיי הקטנה. משהו ששינה הכל והפך אותה מילדה דעתנית, שמחה ושובבה לילדה בלי קול – וגם שנים אחריי, היחיד שהצליח לשמוע אותה, הוא ברוקס. מה קרה באותו היום? והאם היא אי פעם תמצא את קולה שוב…? 🌊

ההתחלה הייתה כל כך מעולה! התגלגלתי מצחוק מסיפור האהבה הצעיר שהתפתח ביניהם (בעל כורחו של הגיבור 😂) וההמשך היה מלא כאב ועומק. 💙
אבל בשלב מסויים לקראת הסוף, הסיפור הפך להיות דיי מדכא, עם יותר מידי דרמה ועלילה שנגררה בלי סיבה… אני חייבת להודות שלקראת 85% קצת מיציתי, וכנראה אם לא הייתי שומעת את האודיו, הייתי מדלגת על חלקים ממנו. 😬
בנוסף, הבחור הלוהט על הכריכה נראה בגיל 40+ ולכן חשבתי שזה הולך להיות סיפור "יותר בוגר", אבל זה לא קרה, וכל קשר בין ברוקס לדמות על הכריכה הוא מקרי בהחלט… באסה. 😂
אבל למרות הכל, הכתיבה של בריטני מיוחדת ומרגשת כמו תמיד… וכמובן, דמויות שבורות הן הקריפטונייט שלי, ופה יש שניים כאלו. 👑
עדכון– אחרי שקראתי את דברי הסופרת בסוף (שלא הופיעו באודיו) התאהבתי בספר הזה קצת עוד יותר… 😍 אל תפספסו את החלק הזה!!!
