The name of the book says it all… because it was definitely NOT WHAT I EXPECTED!💥
What I like most about Jewel's books is that each one is completely different. She write different books to fit different people – and this one a mature "second chance" story. 💕👑

42-year-old Elsie is married to Craig and has 4 grown children and a regular life routine. But suddenly, after 22 years, 3 months and 6 days of marriage – she can no longer stand it. She's miserable. The passion disappeared and with it, her love… 💔
Almost a year later, a man who looks like Chris Evans with a beard (Because who doesn't love Captain America?! 😋) arrives to her small gossipy town and despite the age difference (12 years) Kael Hendricks (Like Kale. Just as healthy, twice as sexy 😂) changes everything… for better and worse. 🔥

30-year-old Kael will make you SWOON, but I felt like he was TOO PERFECT. Too nice… too caring… too understanding… too patient… 🙈
And even though there were times his behavior didn’t make sense to me, he was also the perfect contrast to Elsie – and maybe that’s why the chemistry between them was so good. 🔥
What I loved most was that Elsie was not perfect and her struggles were real.

Although the ending felt a little too fast and the prologue did not completely satisfy me (I wanted more!!!) I enjoyed the ride. 😍
It was refreshing, touching, original story full of insights about mature characters looking to find happiness even though it might be different from what is accepted. ❤
This book is not a romance story, it's a journey about self discovery, life choices and love.

After I finished reading, I was left with thoughts about people I know who are in similar situations – and felt completely blessed to be married to "my very own Kael" who gives me all the freedom and love I need. 💕💕💕

מה שאני הכי אוהבת אצל ג'ול אי. אן הוא שכל ספר שלה שונה לחלוטין מהקודם. היא כותבת ספרים שונים לקהלים שונים – והפעם, סיפור בוגר על הזדמנות שנייה. 💕👑

אלזי בת ה-42 נשואה לקרייג ויש להם 4 ילדים בוגרים ושגרת חיים קבועה. אבל פתאום, אחרי 22 שנים, 3 חודשים ו-6 ימים של נישואים היא כבר לא יכולה לשאת את זה יותר. היא אומללה. התשוקה נעלמה, המשיכה דעכה ואיתם גם האהבה… 💔

קיל בן ה-30 הוא גבר שיגרום לכן להתאהב בו עד כלות, אבל לדעתי הוא היה מושלם מידי. נחמד מידי… אכפתי מידי… מבין מידי… סבלני מידי… 🙈
ולמרות שהיו רגעים שההתנהגות שלו לא הייתה הגיונית, הוא היה הניגוד המושלם לאלזי – ואולי בגלל זה הכימיה ביניהם הייתה כל כך טובה. 🔥
אבל מה שהכי אהבתי הוא שאלזי לא הייתה מושלמת וההתמודדויות שלה היו אמיתיות.

אמנם הסוף הרגיש לי מהיר מידי והפרולוג לא סיפק אותי לגמרי (רציתי עוד!!!) נהניתי מהמסע. 😍
זהו סיפור מרענן, מרגש, מקורי ומלא בתובנות, על דמויות בוגרות המחפשות שוב אושר – למרות שרצונותיהם לא תמיד תואמות את מה שמצופה. ❤
מה שכן, לדעתי זה לא רומן רומנטי – הוא סיפור של מסע על גילוי עצמי, קבלת החלטות ואהבה.

אחרי שסיימתי לקרוא, נשארתי עם מחשבות על אנשים שאני מכירה שנמצאים בסיטואציות דומות – ואני כל כך מאושרת שהתחתנתי עם "קיל משלי" שנותן לי את כל החופש והאהבה שאני צריכה. 💕💕💕
