I did not know anything about this book when I started it, but I really thought it was going to be amazing.
Instead – it cost me my dinner . 😭

The heroin was raped, gets pregnant and decides to have the baby. 💔
I don't judge this choice, on the contrary! I adore women who decide to turn a bad experience into a good one… BUT this was different. 😬

Ivy's mother passed away and she feels lost and lonely… especially now that her father, who was such a good and caring person, started drinking. 💔
She has a boyfriend and lots of friends and she even has plans for the future – but everything shatters one day, when she comes home from school and… her drunken father rapes her.
HER fucking DAD!!! 😱😱😱
Then she finds out she's pregnant, decides to give birth – and from here, her "journey" to find love and a happy ending begins.
And all I have to say is… WTF?! 😫

Now, I do not judge the heroin, but I do judge the author's choice to write such a nasty thing in a romantic novel, because it's just… disgusting. 🙈

I could have dealt with it somehow (maybe, I can't promise) if the subject had been well written… if, for example, the author had described the heroin's struggles and the consequences of this rape, but it didn't happen. It was just a disgusting twist to add drama to the story and present Ivy's character as one with a "dark past"- until the hero arrives and drifts her towards the sunset on a unicorn. 😬😬😬

So why not just a "regular" rape? Why put incest in here…? (I'm seriously asking. Someone answer me, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Between us, how can you even enjoy a love story when… this thing… is constantly in your subconscious?? 🙈
The answer: Impossible. That is why I stopped reading. 😂

NOTE: I have no intention of hurting the author, her work or anyone who enjoyed the book. The writing was actually good. Unfortunately, personally, I could not connect to such a story.

לא ידעתי כלום על הספר הזה כשהתחלתי אותו, אבל באמת חשבתי שהוא הולך להיות מדהים.
במקום – עלתה לי כל ארוחת הערב המושקעת שבישלתי. 😭

הגיבורה נאנסת, נכנסת להריון ומחליטה ללדת את התינוק. 💔
אני לא שופטת את הבחירה הזו, להיפך! אני מעריצה נשים שמחליטות להפוך חוויה רעה, לטובה… אבל כאן, זה היה קצת שונה. 😬

אימה של אייבי נפטרה והיא מרגישה אבודה ובודדה… במיוחד עכשיו כשאביה, שהיה אדם כל כך טוב ואיכפתי, מתחיל לשתות. 💔
יש לה חבר, המון חברות ואפילו תוכניות לעתיד – אבל הכל מתנפץ לה יום אחד, כאשר היא חוזרת הביתה מבית הספר ו… אביה השיכור אונס אותה.

ואז היא מגלה שהיא בהריון, מחליטה ללדת את התינוק – ומפה, מתחיל "המסע שלה" למציאת אהבה וסוף טוב.
וכל מה שיש לי להגיד לכם הוא… WTF?! 😫

עכשיו, אני לא שופטת את הגיבורה, אבל אני כן שופטת את בחירת הסופרת לכתוב על נושא כזה בתוך רומן רומנטי, כי זה פשוט… מגעיל. 🙈

הייתי יכולה להתמודד איכשהו (אולי, אני לא מבטיחה) אם הנושא היה כתוב טוב… אם למשל הסופרת הייתה מתארת את המאבק של הגיבורה, ההשלכות של האונס וגילוי העריות, אבל זה לא קרה. זה היה סתם טוויסט מבחיל כדי להוסיף לסיפור דרמה ולדמות של אייבי "עבר אפל" – עד שיגיע הגיבור ויסחף אותה אל עבר השקיעה על חד קרן. 😬😬😬

אז למה לא "סתם אונס"? למה דווקא גילוי עריות…? (אני שואלת ברצינות, כן? אמן שמישהו יענה לי!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

בינינו, איך אפשר בכלל ליהנות מסיפור אהבה כלשהו כש…הדבר הזה… נמצא כל הזמן בתת מודע?? 🙈
תשובה: אי אפשר. ולכן הוא ננטש. 😂

הערה: אין לי שום כוונה לפגוע בסופרת, בעבודתה או במי שנהנתה מהספר. הכתיבה דווקא הייתה דיי טובה. לצערי, באופן אישי, לא הצלחתי להתחבר לעלילה.
